Heartstrings Project 4- Amazing Grace
This one is for my mother in law for Mothers Day. Amazing Grace how sweet the sound. Gods grace is amazing. His love is pure and freely given when we trust Jesus as our savior.
My mother in law is always gracious and kind. She has loved me as one of her daughters from the moment I met her. She is generous and loving and I am thankful for her blessing on our family.
Burlap over canvas. Parchment paper over burlap. Strings and staff and notes of copper. My husband made the cross from poplar wood.
Heartstrings Project II
The Old Rugged Cross
A classic hymn that pulls at the heart strings. This is a favorite and will go to my mom.
Inspired by guitar strings and sheet music the copper wires create a musical staff. The old rugged cross in the center is made from old poplar wood crafted by my husband.
The emblem of suffering and pain, the cross leads us to redemption and forgiveness and eternal ultimate love.
Heartstrings Project 1
This is a mixed media project I’ve had in mind for months now. This is the first of what will be several renditions of the idea. It starts with a stretched canvas 10×13, painted in a light brown acrylic. Holes are drilled along either side. Then a strip of burlap is tacked on across the middle using guitar string holders.and guitar strings are placed across like a musical staff. I placed a hammered copper heart in the middle, under the strings. Above and below are dry rub transfers of a portion of sheet music from the 18th century song called Home Sweet Home. I covered the back of the canvas in burlap and will frame it in a copper frame.

Home Sweet Home Birdhouse
These were originally given to me as lamps for a refind project. I painted them with acrylic and distressed them. I used photos of doorknob plates, windows and shutters to create dry rub transfers as the decor.
